Introduction
Luca Leonelli (Modena 1951) shows himself, through this catalogue of his graphic works, an artist of the first rank. Characterized by a disquiet, a bitter estimation of the “magnificent fates and advances” of the human existential adventure, and an explicit rejection of the recurring conditions of intelectual servitude and existential degradation, his artistic vision is destined to fascinate the connoisseurs and disciples of the classical and noble form of expression that is the engraving, and all those that don’t want Art to give them a superficial, temporary jolt, but to dig into the human condition, in the mysteries of the “other” and of nature.
Carlo Bertelli is an art historian, was the director of the Calcografia, superintendent at the Gallerie in Milan (IT), and lecturer at the universities of Lausanne, Venice and Mendrisio.
Sandro Parmiggiani is a critic and art historian, and lecturer in management systems for contemporary art at the University of Milan (IT).
